about bowl of mush
"Bowl of Mush" is the blog of Alyisha Wasilewski, a sleepy graduate student enrolled in the Master's of Library and Information Studies program at URI. It is the home of coursework completed for LSC 530: Children's Materials & Services, as taught by Mary Moen.
about the author
Alyisha has served in public libraries for over a decade, mostly in Children's Services. She has also worked as an independent Storyteller for local, indie bookstores; as a professional Writing Tutor; and as a Tour Guide at a haunted mansion. She graduated cum laude from Saint Michael's College in 2008 with a B.A. in English Literature (& a dual degree in Religious Studies). She is currently pursuing her Master's in Library and Information Studies from the University of Rhode Island.
She has a passion for literature & the power of stories, a drive to understand cultures & perspectives different from her own, and a hope to contribute positively to her community. She loves coffee, googly eyes, breakfast foods, and the ocean. She strives to produce the most realistic animal impressions possible, and harbors a silly pipe-dream of restoring the reputation of (biodegradable) glitter in the eyes of librarians & educators everywhere. |
Alyisha has always loved a well-crafted goodnight story.
She also loves stories in the morning, in the afternoon, and after Second Breakfast.
