Stuff Your Googly Eyes With Wonder
by Alyisha wasilewski
For my visual, I decided to try my hand at creating a temporary Makerspace at home by fiddling with cardboard, spray paint, and some basic tools (like a Screwdriver; Whaaaat?! This was a big step for me...truly). I made a giant set of googly-eyes out of a couple of cheap wall clocks, following a tutorial from Amy Johnson's Blog, Maker Mama. My idea was that this would at least begin to convey the awe and wonder with which I try to approach our field and the world, and which I try to instill in the children who visit me at the library. This course, LSC 530: Children's Materials & Services, and all the new literature and theory I've encountered, has only served to amplify my wonder.
